What a VPN changes

A VPN can protect traffic between your device and the VPN service from being read by someone on the same local network. The service provider can still see activity associated with the connection, so trust and privacy policies matter.

When it may help

Consider a VPN when using unfamiliar networks, travelling, working remotely, or managing several devices. It does not replace strong passwords, multi-factor authentication, updates, or careful browsing.

Questions to check

Compare supported platforms, connection behaviour, cancellation terms, privacy documentation, and whether the service fits your actual use case.
